Virtual Scientific is a CLIA certified laboratory company specializing in offering “virtual” cytogenetic analysis to other laboratories throughout the US and Canada. Virtual Scientific Inc. (VSI) offers overflow cytogenetic analysis to laboratories whose influx in volume is greater than their capacity. Client sought assistance to better manage its financial performance and options to expand. Client also sought assistance to analyze equipment purchase vs. lease option and to discuss various sales growth strategies including an acquisition of another line of business.
SBDC worked with the client to analyze business growth strategies and capital needs to support such a growth curve. Client attended ProfitMastery workshop to better understand cash flow management. Discussed competitive analysis, industry trends, SWOT analysis, sales strategies, etc. Worked with client on how to prepare for an Investor pitch event in Tucson. Provided client with a business plan template, sample executive summary and investor pitch guidelines. Spent time discussing and strategizing a “message” or elevator pitch. Worked with client on investor pitch dry run. Client discussed how their accounts were damaged after moving the accounting system from Microsoft to QuickBooks. Discussed the online QuickBooks class offered at Maricopa SBDC for client to learn more about book keeping system. Introduced client to Innovations incubator space option for the short-term expansion needs.
